Academy Information

The Helmet Peak Fire Department sponsors Fire Academies that are sanction by IFSAC and the Arizona Center for Fire Service Excellence.  The academy provides you with the knowledge and skills to test for State Firefighter I & II and HazMat FRA/FRO, Wildland and Rope I Certification.

19.5 college credits through Pima Community College upon receiving certifications!

Academy Requirements

Must be 18 years of age

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

AZ State Certified EMT or CEP

Must be cleared by a physician to meet the physical demands

OUR NEXT ACADEMY WILL START ON September 30, 2026 

Class Schedule

Every Wednesday from 1600 to 2200 and Saturdays from 0800 to 1800

There may be some additional days for some classes, but it will be listed in the class syllabus.

ALL ACADEMY RECRUITS MUST ADHERE TO THE COVID-19 CDC GUIDELINES WHILE ATTENDING THE ACADEMY.

ACADEMY FEE IS $2,500.00 AND INCLUDES:

 MANUAL, UNIFORM SHIRT, MATERIALS AND TESTING FEES.  PAYMENT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE.
